CDM 2015 Principal Designer

CDM 2015 Principal Designer

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) came into force on 6 April 2015, replacing CDM 2007. CDM 2015 now complies to all residential projects. Benison Associates are experienced in fulfilling the role of Principal Designer and providing guidance on the legal requirements for CDM 2015.

We provide CDM consultancy services for the whole construction process on all construction projects, from concept to completion. In addition we provide guidance regarding what each duty holder must, or should do, to comply with the law to ensure projects are carried out in a way that secures health and safety.

Our CDM 2015 Principal Designer service generally includes the reviewing of the pre-construction site information relating to any reports available or issued by the client and the provision of advice on any additional surveys or reports necessary to fulfil the requirements and duties under CDM 2015.

An initial site inspection would normally be carried out to risk assess the existing environment in relation to access and the impact of the development on neighbouring premises.  We would also assess the impact of any activity close to the site location and draft/develop the pre-construction information pack ready for issue with Tender Documents if required.

In addition we can assist with CDM 2015 client duties in-house, including but not limited to:

  • Drafting and issue of the F10 notification to the HSE for the project.
  • Reviewing the Principal Contractor’s site safety documentation when issued and advise if the procedures they propose control site risks.
  • Visit the site early in the project to ensure that the arrangements for health safety and welfare are working and issue a report in this respect.

If you would like any further information regarding CDM 2015 please do not hesitate to contact us for a no obligation discussion or initial meeting.
